Vaping Giant, JUUL, sued for Selling Contaminated Vaping Pods

American e-cigarette giant, JUUL, is being sued for allegedly deliberately distributing contaminated vaping pods to customers and retailers. A former top executive for the vaping giant alleged that at least one million tainted pods were put in the market earlier this year (2019).
Former Senior Vice President of JUUL, Sidohartin Brescia claimed he was fired for raising concerns about the quality of the products being sold.

The lawsuit alleges the Chief Executive Officer at the time, Kevin Burns dismissed Brescia’s concerns by saying “half of our customers are drunk and vaping like ms who the f is going to notice the quality of our pods?”
This gives the impression that the CEO didn’t care about the customer’s health, the quality of the products, and the image of the brand.

How Did Vaping Become This Big a Market and Health Issue?
The growth of the vaping industry is not unconnected with the growth of the tobacco industry it sought to replace. Using the same strategies deployed by the tobacco industry decades ago such as appealing to glamour, relaxation, sharing, travel, freedom, and sex. The advertising is the same when placed side by side.
Movies, music videos, and the celebrities that drive the entertainment industry have also been allegedly been recruited to drive conversion and sales for the vaping industry.

Targeting Children/Teenagers?
Market leader, JUUL, has denied targeting teenagers and children by using flavours that appeal more to children such as Mango, Cotton Candy, Jelly Donut, Gummy Bears and others.
There have been reports in America of students passing out after vaping in school restrooms while some schools have started frisking students in a drive to sieve the products.

It is expected that these vaping products, once the Western market begins to push back will definitely try to make an entry into third world countries in Asia, Africa, and South America.
